LIFEGUARD POSITION: Most of our season (June 22-August 9) provides programs for adults with disabilities. During this time, we must have a certified lifeguard (age 17 or older) who can supervise swimming at our pool and boating (canoes, paddleboats) and shore fishing at our pond.
This could be a live-in or live-out position, depending on your needs. The live-in option would include housing and meals, with additional general camp hours and responsibilities if desired, and additional salary dependent upon responsibilities.
The live-out option would offer aquatics responsibilities only and the flexibility to commute in on the days needed. The live out position would include an hourly wage ($20/hr). The live-out position runs most days from Monday-Thursday 9am-11:30 and 2:00-4:00, with occasional days added when possible.
Lifeguard Responsibilities include: Attending part of camp orientation during the week of June 22, training of counseling staff for waterfront and pool supervision, lifeguard duties for two 45 minute swim periods in our 5’ deep pool, and two 45 minute periods of waterfront supervision at our pond (canoe, paddle boats and shore fishing), and possibly daily water testing of the pool. Camper-to-staff ratio is 3:1 or better. Lifeguards also provide alternative activities in a covered area on days with inclement weather.
AQUATICS DIRECTOR POSITION: This person is needed during our children's camp from July 27-August 1 from 2-4pm each day at $30/hr. Lifeguard certification is desirable but not required. The Aquatics Director must be at least 21 and have all of the necessary credentials required by NYSDOH for Children's Camps:
